With more than half a dozen independent farms operating near Latimer Heights, it’s easy to enjoy BC’s rural roots. All around Langley, you’ll find a number of independent farms, each offering free food samplings and a unique insight into where our food comes from.

So, what are you waiting for? Here’s a list of eight adorable farms you can visit today.

1.

JD Farms

Thanksgiving will never be the same after you’ve tried a fresh, certified specialty turkey from this Langley farm. Located 20 minutes from Latimer Heights, JD Farms also features turkey sandwiches, raw dog food, and Christmas trees.

Krauss Berry Farms

Nothing says summer like picking your own berries on a warm afternoon. At Krause Berry Farms, located 15 minutes southeast of Latimer Heights, you and your family are invited to explore the farm, pick berries, and take part in a variety of events year-round, like a butterfly release party, that aims to educate and inspire.

Aldor Acres

With hayrides and farm animals, Langley’s Aldor Acres is a great place to take your kids on the weekend. In the fall, you can pick your Halloween pumpkins from their patch and by the time winter rolls around, you’ll find the perfect Christmas tree that just needs a few decorations. Aldor Acres is located 17 minutes from Latimer Heights.

Driediger Farms

This little fruit and veggie market located 10 minutes from Latimer Heights features U-pick fields full of fresh BC berries and a kid’s playground with the trampoline. Driediger Farms is a great alternative to shopping for produce at the grocery store, especially in the summer.

Eagle Acres Dairy

In addition to a fun hayride, Eagle Acre’s Dairy in Langley will take you on an interactive tour of their daily chores which includes milking cows and making butter. You’ll even have an opportunity to sample some chocolate milk. Located less than 12 minutes from new homes at Latimer Heights, this dairy farm is a popular weekend destination, especially for young families.

Kensington Prairie Farm

Located 25 minutes south of Latimer Heights, Kensington Prairie Farm is a well-maintained homestead to a number of beautiful alpacas. At the onsite gift shop, you’ll find a variety of high-quality Canadian-made and imported alpaca products as well as meats and free-range eggs.

Milner Valley Cheese

If you love goats than you’re in for a treat at Milner Valley Cheese. Located less than 10 minutes from Latimer Heights, this old-school goat farm features a little petting zoo along with a boutique market featuring delicious cheeses and frozen meats.

Laurica Farm

At Laurica Farm, located 30 minutes south of Latimer Heights, you’ll find fresh, seasonal produce as well as a lifestyle that encourages you to slow down and appreciate the simple things. Guests are invited to tour the farm, participate in workshops and enjoy a long table country dinner prepared. Events happen all year round at this farm so be sure to check their website often.

Latimer Heights is a gorgeous 74-acre neighbourhood that will become the new gateway to Langley and is the largest master-planned community in the Township of Langley with nearly 2,000 new homes. These new homes development in Langley will also include greenspace and a commercial/retail hub.
