Management Team

Kent Sillars, CA – President

Kent has been heavily involved in the development and construction of real estate in BC and Alberta since 1989.  His primary role as President of Vesta is to provide leadership and strategic direction to the executive team. In addition to being an active member of the Greater Vancouver Home Builder's Association for the last 15 years, including serving on the Board of Directors for 3 years, Kent is a member of the North American Builders Association, Calgary Home Builders Association and the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants. He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Simon Fraser University and a Chartered Accountancy degree. Giving back to the community is one of Kent’s great passions.  He currently serves on the Board of Directors for Knighthawk Inc. and on the Advisory Board of Nightshift Ministries.  Kent also enjoys dirt biking, running and spending time with his wife and three children.

Dennis Wiemken – Senior Vice President

Dennis oversees land acquisition, planning and development for Vesta and is also responsible for the overall sales strategy and activities in BC and Alberta. He is a licensed Realtor with over 30 years of experience in land development, construction and real estate. Raised in the Lower Mainland, Dennis and his wife have two children. Their family interests include motorcycles, horses and boating.

Greg Friesen, AScT – Construction Manager

Greg manages Vesta's customer care teams and oversees all aspects of budgeting, tendering, permit applications and purchasing for Vesta’s British Columbia building sites. An integral member of Vesta’s management team since 2001, Greg holds a Diploma of Civil and Structural Technology from the British Columbia Institute of Technology and has 18 years experience in the construction technology industry.  Greg is married and enjoys landscaping, video and board games and spending time with friends and family.

Curt Woodhall – Vice President, Sales & Marketing

Curt heads up Vesta’s marketing department and is involved in sales management for the company’s BC and Alberta communities. He has more than 20 years sales and marketing experience with over 14 years in the real estate industry. Curt’s extensive background includes 10 years directing the marketing activities for one of BC's largest residential developers and owning his own real estate sales and marketing firm in the Okanagan. Curt holds a Marketing diploma from Douglas College and a diploma of Technology in Marketing Communications from the British Columbia Institute of Technology in addition to an Internet Marketing certificate from the University of British Columbia.  As part of his commitment to lifelong learning, Curt is also enrolled in the executive marketing and managment program through UBC’s Sauder School of Business.  Curt loves traveling, photography and ice hockey.

Ross Yamaguchi, MAICS – Land Development Manager

Ross has been involved in land acquisition and development throughout Southern California and Vancouver since 1998. He has held managerial positions with several builders and developers and is active with the Urban Development Institute, Business Improvement Areas of BC, the Light Construction and Development Certificate program and a local community transformation project in Long Beach, CA.  Ross holds a Bachelors degree in Business and Economics from the University of California and a Masters in Intercultural Studies from Biola University. In his free time, Ross enjoys playing basketball, skiing, and time with his wife and three children. 

Stan Wong, CMA, AAT– Vice President, Finance & Administration

Stan oversees the finance, administration and human resource departments for Vesta. His more than 30 years of real estate finance and accounting experience includes 13 years with a chartered bank, and more recently, 15 years with a major Lower Mainland developer. He holds a Certified Management Accountant (CMA) designation and financial management (accounting) diplomas from BCIT. Stan enjoys travelling, golf, hockey and family activities with his wife of 25 years and their two children.

Chris Elkey, BA, MEDes, MCIP – Senior Development Manager, Alberta

Chris joined the company in 2007 to manage the 160-acre Williamstown development in Airdrie Alberta. His role is to oversee all land development for Vesta’s Alberta projects, including managing external consultants through the planning, engineering and construction process. Throughout his extensive 11-years of experience, Chris has worked as the Planning Team Leader for the City of Airdrie, Senior Strategic Planner for the City of Calgary and continues to sit on a variety of boards and committees related to land development in Airdrie. Chris has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Urban Geography from the University of British Columbia and a Master of Environmental Design in Planning from the University of Calgary. He is also an adjunct Professor in the faculty of Environmental Design Planning Program at the University of Calgary. In his free time Chris loves to travel, is an avid golfer and plays competitive ice hockey.

Clayton Duguid – General Manager, Alberta

Clayton, who has worked with Vesta for the past 12 years, oversees the construction of all multi-family and single family homes in Alberta. With over 15 years of construction experience, he now leads the Alberta team including hiring and training the customer care team. Clayton holds certificates for building code and management from the British Columbia Institute of Technology. When he’s not working, Clayton enjoys camping with his wife and three children and watching his sons’ junior hockey games.
